L’Association d’entraide en santé mentale l’Éveil de Brome-Missisquoi offers mental health support services for socio-professional and educational integration for people living with psychological or emotional distress
For the team of l’Éveil and the board of directors of the organization, several objectives exist and continue to represent core values since the foundation of l’Éveil in December 1995. The democratic functioning of the organization and compliance with this principle ensures services on an equal basis to men and women aged between 16 years and over. Thus, we apply these challenges in our daily lives and we wish to be agents of recovery and social transformation in the community and to establish beneficial means to improve the quality of life of the users. It is possible for us to act on the causes and not only on the effects.
Our practices come from the alternative Quebec community movement which aims to support the capacity for change of people living with multiple problems.
Our support is based on the development of the recovery process for individuals. We support and promote the individual appropriation of the power to take action both psychologically and individually as well as socially and collectively.
The principles and values of l’Éveil de Brome-Missisquoi are based on respect of the person’s choices, their integration into the community as well as their well-being and their real quality of life in society. To live, to love and to be loved, to be a worker, a neighbor, a volunteer, a graduate, this is what life is about!
